This was the first time I ever had broccoli cheddar soup. It was one of those times when I was craving something I’d never had before lol. I enjoy making different kinds of bread so I wanted to try making the bread bowls too and I’m happy with how they turned out!
* 1 cup (152 grams) cornmeal, optional, for baking sheets * 4 1/2 teaspoons (2 packets or 14 grams) instant yeast * 21/2 cups (590 ml) warm water (110°F) * 2 tablespoons (25 grams) olive oil * 1 tablespoon (13 grams) granulated sugar * 4 cups (508 grams) bread flour * 3 cups (381 grams) all-purpose flour * 1 teaspoon garlic powder * 2 teaspoons fine sea salt * 1 egg, for egg wash * 1 tablespoon water, for egg wash * 1 cup (236 ml) hot water, for oven
Honestly, it tasted absolutely how I hoped it would and is especially comforting in the cold 😌

I follow a similar recipe. In that theres some fennel for some more aroma and potatoes for more starch which together with the flour and cream make the soup more thick anchovies creamy

Here is the recipe I followed for the soup:
https://youtu.be/b8xmltu1Lhs?si=hJgSSgjeTp7Sz1BE
This is from the video description:
Broccoli Cheddar Soup Ingredients:
* 1/2 cup Butter
* 1 diced onion
* 1 minced garlic clove
* 1/2 cup flour
* 4C chicken broth
* 24oz shredded cheese
* 1 qrt half n half (or 2Cs milk + 2C Heavy cream)
* 3 grated carrots
* 1lb broccoli florets chopped
* Salt/pepper to taste
* Pinch (less than 1/8th tsp) cayenne
I used less butter and cream than mentioned in the recipe, but the soup was still rich and decadent 🤤
The bread bowl recipe I followed:
