1 in 4 Gen Z and millennials say they bring their own hot sauce to restaurants! Who here does this?

  1. I keep a shaker of crushed red pepper in my vehicle for the occasional gas station pizza while traveling. I’m not bringing hot sauce into a restaurant

I literally never saw anyone do that. Who the hell just carries hot sauce around?

No need, sriracha is common enough here that most restaurants have it

Okay so im 45 ibe done this but o fast food place my nephew grew up in Texas. This fool has a holster for his current sauce. He’s 20. I think its a location thing not a gen thing

  5. I would bring Melinda’s everywhere – but wife literally side-eyes me.

    Oh its an ad.

I’m a 43 year old millennial and I had a hot sauce key chain. To be fair I live in a place that relies on ferries. They used to have hot sauce on the ferry for their food and they got rid of it. The food is mediocre at best so having some hot sauce helps

  7. not gen z but I bring hot sauce to the work cafeteria. they provide some they always are mostly out the stuff they get is rather weak.

Are the mods really going to let brands just post shit here? Disappointing.

My wife carries a bottle of cry baby craigs and Cholula packets in her purse.

Gen X here, I have 5 different hot sauces in my lunch bag for work, if that counts.

  11. Gen X weighing in. I do bring a bottle to certain restaurants that I know don’t have any kind that I like. And I always carry a few individual Frank’s packets, bought a box of 200 on Amazon. But I’m a woman carrying a large purse, so it’s unobtrusive.

Gen X here… I’ve brought my own Thai Bird Chilies when I get Pho. Jalapeños served might as well be bell peppers.
I’ve also chosen to do take out for some food, when I’d prefer to have my arsenal of sauces and peppers from home available.

I do. They let me keep a bottle at my regular lunch spot. I take flat iron flakes when I get thai food. I take old bay if I’m dining in at my taco shop and want ceviche. Most recently took my bottle of Last Dab Pepper X to put in my ramen and yakitori. It always get a laugh out of the staff.

Lot of crazy aggressive responses for no reason… Hot sauce is in my girls purse.

It feels a bit rude and honestly if somewhere isn’t hot enough then just enjoy the food and find somewhere else next time.

These days stuff at most mainstream places seldom hits the spice spot for me. (I’m UK). Even Phall from an Indian was enjoyable but nothing I couldn’t handle.

I did once, by accident. I brought in a collection of sauces as an ice breaker at a corporate meeting and then took a visitor from Salt Lake City out for North Carolina barbecue. When I saw they only had Texas Pete (no hate, but it’s not hot enough for me), I remembered I had a bag of sauces in the car so I grabbed one to compliment the que.

That’s my problem with bringing sauce; unless I know what I’m going to order, I wouldn’t know what to bring to pair with it. I’d need a selection at all times.

    Gen X, by the way.

Millennial here, I’ve done it a few times.
