Business France India, in partnership with Le Cordon Bleu at GD Goenka University and the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has concluded the prestigious French Patisserie Competition. The event, held at the Embassy of France in New Delhi, celebrated the talent of India’s top pastry chefs.
The competition, which included regional finals held at various French Consulates across India, attracted 40 talented pastry chefs. The finalists showcased their skills in creating exquisite French pastries, impressing a panel of distinguished judges, including French Consuls General. The event finale was also attended by Thierry Mathou, the Ambassador of France to India, along with representatives of the F&B industry, Business France, Le Cordon Bleu and the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce.

The competition showcased the talent of pastry chefs from various parts of the country, including Delhi, Bengaluru, Puducherry, Mumbai and Kolkata. With 40 contestants competing for a spot in the finale, several rounds were held to chisel the finalists down to 13.
The ultimate winner of the competition, Prerna Kothari (Senior Learning Facilitator at Le Cordon Bleu School of Hospitality & Tourism, GD Goenka University, Gurugram), was awarded a trip to Paris and a stay at Le Mathurin Paris Hotel & Spa. Akash Khandelwal (Senior Sous Chef at Sheraton Hotel, New Delhi) and Sayali S Avhad (Entrepreneur and Owner of Chef Lee Bakes and Assistant Professor at Lexicon Institute of Hotel Management, Pune) secured the second and third positions, respectively.
The finale was a celebration of culinary passion, with attendees getting to enjoy several activities and catering provided by Lalit, the Hospitality Partner of the event. The judges lauded the participants and winners for their innovation, craftsmanship, and dedication to creating French pastry masterpieces.
Le Cordon Bleu, founded in Paris in 1895, is considered the largest network of culinary and hospitality schools in the world with more than 35 institutes in 20 countries.
