A truly impeccable meal last night at Quintonil to cap off my 30th birthday trip.
There was not a single dish that disappointed and their use of local and less used ingredients, like insects, was incredible.
The standout dishes for me were the pickled mussel tart with a smoked chile and scallop purée as well as their take on a duck tamale, one of the best things I’ve ever tasted.
The first dessert was a coconut sorbet with caviar which worked amazingly well.
The insects pictured were all featured in the menu in various forms.
The wine pairing, of exclusively Mexican wines, was the best I’ve ever had and for a very reasonable price of ~ $130 USD.
The service was good but definitely more of a 2 star level than a 3, which is fine for me.
If you ever get the chance to eat here, please do.
This menu contained some of the best bites I’ve ever had, very much a memorable experience!
