  1. My aunt used to do it! Never understood why it’s called pizzaiola since I don’t remember capers on a lot of pizze.

    This is a great oldie for not so great beef cuts. Typical dinner from mum when the meat wasn’t the best cut but could still be turned into a tasty dish. Just like the “fettina impanata”.

    Where i live we dont use olives, next time i might try to add them.

    usually i do more or less like this:

    600 g red meat (thinly sliced)

    500 g tomato sauce

    600 g sliced potatoes (optional)

    1/2 white onion (or a shallot)

    1 clove garlic

    fresh basil (optional)

    extra virgin olive oil

    salt and lots of oregano
