Probably healthier and tastier to just make your own tbh. I mean I don’t know much about homemaking hot chocolate but I’d assume using dark chocolate would have to be less calories. A nice treat is okay once in a while anyways so don’t fret over it! Looks like it was good 👍.

You can make a lower cal version! I love hot chocolate so I make it as a treat sometimes.
I use a cup of 1% milk, 1.5 tbsp of dutched cocoa (plain), 1tsp of sugar, and a sprinkle of cinnamon and/or chili. Whisk a little milk into the cocoa and sugar to make a paste, then whisk in the rest of the milk and heat. If you do it in a pot, it comes out creamier.

Where did you see this?? my calories are correct on the app

On McDonald’s South Africa website they don’t have medium hot chocolate but they have mocha latte medium listed at 370 calories. Might be an honest mistake if they have it accurately in a different country.

90 calories per sip i guess
pinaple_cheese_girl
173 cals on their website
CarpetNervous
really the calories say 440 on my mcdonalds app 😭

More than likely this is just a typo/bug, mcdonald’s posts a ton of calories for a ton of different countries, different people work on the websites and the in-store menu system, and something is bound to come out wrong. Might be it’s representing the wrong location.

For example, in the US market, if you click beverages and then hot chocolate, it redirects to the coffee page where hot chocolate just isn’t there: https://www.mcdonalds.com/us/en-us/full-menu/mccafe-coffees.html
In the canada market, they have small, medium, and large, with whipped cream by default, so a medium is 360 calories. https://www.mcdonalds.com/ca/en-ca/product/hot-chocolate-with-2-milk-medium.html
In the UK, they only have regular and large, no whipped cream, and the regular is 173 calories: https://www.mcdonalds.com/gb/en-gb/product/hot-chocolate-regular.html
But yeah, it was never gonna be way less than a coke 🙂
