It’s basically a Traeger ad lol
I feel like it would be difficult to truly label things as “BEST” of anything when you only test 11 models when there are literally a hundred or so models.
RecTeq is great, did they test Yoder? CampChef? GrillaGrillz? PitBoss? Pitts & Spitts?
By their wording at the end, the answer is “No.”
They went off sales volume and online reviews which is basically just measuring what people know of rather than what’s out there.
They at least picked the correct one among their collection of grills that would have been much better than the others. Outside of that, it’s pretty much just Traegers.
Most of those are full of shit. Consumer Reports isn’t much different. What makes someone who reviewed washing machines yesterday qualified and knowledgeable with a smoker today?
I have always treated these type of lists with a large grain of salt. Even more so in today’s world. I only look at them now to get ideas of products I might not have heard of and then do the research myself.
I used to work in advertising and one of the easiest LARGE sells was to get a ‘sponsor’ for a list like this. In this case, it looks like Traeger. Best cruise line, best car/truck/boat…you get the idea.
