So I was in Japan recently and my hotel offered breakfast and I always got this steamed rice mixed with eel. Would it be unadon?

Maze gohan is rice cooked with assorted things. Im guessing its Unagi no Maze gohan (eel-mixed rice). Where did you eat it, Hamamatsu?

うなぎの炊き込みご飯 or うなぎの混ぜご飯
丼 means put on top, but this is mixed, either before or after cooking the rice, respectively.
katsurachan
Unagi takikomi gohan. Unadon is usually grilled eel that sits on a bed of rice, usually in a square dish or large donburi bowl, isn’t mixed in and cooked with the rice in a small serving like takikomi gohan.
