  1. I just can’t do American store sushi. The rice is always a terrible texture. The type of rice used makes such a difference.

They look awful. Fillings showing at the side?

The imitation crab feels cheap and lame, yet I hope it was yummy

  4. Never seen any of these onigiri flavours in Japan.

  5. Wow, that’s fascinating to me that onigiri has made it to HEB. Wow.

If you’re in Austin by any chance, try Ashai market. The onigiri they have is cheaper, better, and they have a bunch more options.

Everything bagel Onigiri? Cream cheese? Hard pass

But I am glad that you have that available, I wish it was easier to get good onigiri in the states from convenience stores

I rather go to the Japanese store in the Bay Area with cheaper and better taste of quality onigiri. I literally just bought some onigiri like $2.50 to $3 the other day.

They start selling them at my local IGA. 11.99$ Ca for two. They were perfectly filled and had a seaweed sheet.

    I would rate 9/10

If you’re in the Austin area, I highly recommend Asahi Imports. They make fresh onigiri on the daily and it’s a huge step up from HEB.

I’m not looking forward to these prices when I get back to the states 🤕
They are like 75 cents here in Japan.

  13. OMG, so overpriced.
    Invite me to your house.
    I’ll be your chef.

When I go to Lawsons, I buy one of every kind. No idea what I’m eating. But I love it.
