I am running for a political office. This post isn't about that so I'm not going to spend time on it.
My point is that BBQ can bring people together from every direction.
I'm looking to pick up a smoker that can feed a lot of people.
The maker of this is swearing I can feed 350 people pulled pro and Mac and Cheese with this bad boy.
Iv never smoked in this volume before.
I need feed back from the community. Is this right for the money and right for that number of people?

Great looking rig, who’s the builder?
Hogtie your competition and smoke them.
Funny enough, barbecue has been used for political rallies pretty much since the beginning of the US.
It’s like a sleeper car

Got a campaign slogan for you. Thank me when you win.
Yes, I would like to have counterweight on the doors though
Seems like a reasonable price for volume, mobility, and insulated firebox. Quality may vary, but it doesn’t look like an obvious corner-cutting operation.
I got a 250 gallon pull behind smoker with a multi level hot box and wood storage for about 4k. 8 seems high to me personally.
You’ll be too busy tending this thing to kiss any babies.
It looks solid but at 8k it’s toward the high side.
Not sure how close you would be to Snead Alabama, but might be worth it to check out Black Warrior Smokers.

I would definitely recommend some practice runs first. If you’ve never worked at a restaurant, it can be super overwhelming to make sure everything is going well (or at least not poorly). Definitely make sure you have competent help.
“We’re going to trim the pork from legislation and make sliders out of it.”
I’m sure it can feed that many people, but the question is how long it would take to do so. Any idea of the volume of the grill area? Eyeballing it, how many pork shoulders could you put on at a time? I would work backwards from that.
I see your name so I’m not help but, if you were in Ohio, I’d offer to come help pitmaster for you.
As a former-Alabamian, I am happy to see you here Mark. Good luck!
This seems way overpriced to me. I got mine made by Bell Fabrication in Tulsa Oklahoma 3 years ago for a third that cost and I have not seen a smoker I would rather have. Mine was mounted on a trailer, with a cargo basket, and the cook chamber is round 3/8 steel with a 24 x 48 area.
Seems really high to me. But I can get em a lot cheaper around me
Message me if you need me. I’m the best Oppo researcher in the southeast.
Not a big overpriced firm. Been a lone wolf for 12 years.
Tommy wouldn’t even need to ask what kind of smoker to get. You’ve already lost. Save your money.
Who’s going to run the smoker? Why do you feel the need to buy one?
You can rent smokers… Or hire a barbecue crew
And if you’re going to put that weird white sauce on it… Just skip it and grill some hotdogs instead
I suppose you’ve never inhaled either?
That’s a solid deal if it’s got decently thick steel.
Bet you could setup a couple pop up tents staked or weighed down for even more shade. I’d even bring some of those misting fans if you can handle the extra cost in the event it starts getting hot in bama.
Do me a favor and throw a couple Texas hill country style turkey breasts and briskets on that thang for some love from your Texan brothers and sisters, will ya?
Godspeed
Does the smoke stack run through the firebox and does the firebox heating the stack help it draw better?
Just curious from a campaign finance aspect what happens if you don’t win/ when you are done with office to the smoker? Does the party own it and sell it off? Do you just kinda get to keep it? Like what happens to the computers and things like that bought for a campaign office when the campaign wraps? Never thought about this and I’m curious and feel like the answer is people just kinda keep the stuff.
Also, thanks for fighting the good fight in the south.
Badass. You’ll go far.
Hell yeah brother
I’d tentatively say yes, it would be possible, but I’d argue that your smoker would more likely be a decorative piece by the time your rally starts than actually being used for smoking.
If you’re cooking to fill the stomachs of up for 350 people, you’re probably going to wind up doing 2-3 cooks for meat, and your last cook should be roughly over an hour before your rally begins, with everything resting in the mean time until it’s time to serve.
Is there a photo of the inside? You can definitely feed a TON of people but 350?? I’m not sure.
I’m wondering how that roof doesn’t come flying off when you’re doing 70 down the interstate
