French gastronomy has been popular in Hong Kong for decades, so it is no surprise that the French GourMay Food & Wine Festival has returned for its 14th edition in the city with a bang – or rather, a pop. This year’s theme is “Bubble Up”, a homage to bubbly, and naturally, sparkling wine.

For the month of May and beyond, the festival has partnered with 140 restaurants, bars, shops and learning centres in Hong Kong and Macau to celebrate every aspect of French food and wine.

There’s a gourmet food market filled with popular French ingredients and treats, dozens of specially crafted menus featuring classic (and unconventional) French dishes, reimagined afternoon tea sets and plenty of sparkling wine to go around.

Read below for our picks of the best French GourMay offerings – and don’t forget that the festival is all about the spirit of celebrating the simple pleasures in life.
