It might be more than what is traditional but that looks great. One of the things that’s so great about making your own is you can do it the way you like it.
the_real_roguie
I mean, technically you did…but it looks fucking delicious and I would eat and enjoy and not complain even for a millisecond 🤤

Excuse me sir, I must have misheard. It almost sounded like you said “too much cheese” and I’m just not familiar with that sentence.

“That’s too much cheese” said no one, ever.

If you didn’t like it you can change it, but it sound like you did. Good job, making pizza the way YOU like it. You might find out about neighbors you didn’t know you had.

Never is too much cheese. I think even you need more cheese there…
The_PACCAR_Kid
It looks good to me 😀 👍
Far_Eye451
How do you make it slide off the peel into the oven?
VeterinarianThese951
That’s poppycock. You used just the right amount. I would often times order mine with extra because I felt like I was getting shortchanged…

spicy_ass_mayo
Maybe like 10-20 percent more than traditional….
You do you big dawg
I put salami honey and chili flake on mine
I’ve told my whole family it’s a margarita with salami honey and chili flake, they still get disappointed when they order a margarita and it doesn’t come with:
Fucking salami, honey and chili flake.

It’s never wrong if you like it. But yeah. Most of the time less is more.

I love that you’re generous with the basil!

Blasphemy! There is no such thing.

Looks good, but perhaps too much for fresh mozzarella; high moisture content keeps you from getting a proper melt on it (and explains why traditional margherita pizzas don’t have full coverage). If you like a lot of cheese like many of the other comments here, do a similar amount but instead of fresh use a low moisture (whole milk preferably) mozzarella

“Too much cheese” I’m still trying to process that! Looks good.

Every time I made a Margherita for I thought the same things but it came out amazing
Aceman1979
Probably you did and it maybe needed five minutes longer, but I would gladly devour that in five minutes flat. Good work.

I think as wonderful as they are some traditional Napoli style pizzas can be stingy and inconsistent on toppings. This might be slightly too far in the other direction, but I’d rather have a pizza with good coverage than one that some guy has shotgunned ingredients at blindfolded.
Odd-Attention-2127
It’s perfect!

Looks like the perfect amount to me!
Almonte_cowboy
A purist would have raised eyebrows, looks great and extra cheese is a thing. Nice pie.
ancient_cheetle
“that’s not that much cheese”
Megwyynn
One thing that might help, with fresh mozzarella, is to try and get some of the moisture out before cooking. I usually press slices between paper towels to remove some of the water. That way, you can use as much mozzarella as you want!
TravelerMSY
One of the restaurant will have less cheese in it, but the beauty of making your own pizzas is that you can have it however you want.

Can there be too much cheese?
