  1. This triggers so much mixed emotions in me.

1- what kind of terrorist does that.
2- you baked them, you can have whatever pieces you want.
3- I’d do it but not say and let everyone blame Steve from Accounting.

    It’s gloriously devilish!!

In the past I’ve cut brownies. Removed the entire middle row and squished them back together before I let the kids have any!
The best move when taking corners, is to only cut your brownies into 4 first!!

  2. I baked brownies to send to my long distance boyfriend today but my baker’s tax came from the absolute middle of the pan hahaha

I am both appalled and I understand. Looks so yummy 😍.

  4. Honestly smart because people at work are always scared to be the one to take the first piece. You’ve solved for that problem. Everyone wins! Looks amazing.

Is that a jelly roll pan? Like did you double the recipe or not double it and just make them thin kinda like a Texas sheet cake.

  6. I also call those Chef’s Prerogative, and Due Diligence.

What’s the best way to bring them to work? I bake brownies for my kids to take to their workplace and can’t figure out a nice way to present them that’s disposable (because containers can quickly disappear)

that is my least favorite part of brownies. the middle >>>

  9. Question for y’all – how do you properly regulate baking sheet pan brownies? Mine get baked properly for 90% of the pieces, but the ones towards the middle are too fudgy to even hold. If I up the bake time then the ones near the edges are too cakey 🙁

As long as you put extra butter in the corners when greasing the pan I agree lol

My baker’s tax is the opposite – I would have selected the 4 middle pieces.

  12. This is the equivalent of picking the pepperoni off a pizza.

I love the concept of “Baker’s Tax” and will be borrowing this moving forward! Thanks 😊

Possibly unpopular opinion, maybe(?): corner/edge brownies are not as good as non-corner/edge brownies. 🧐

  15. drooneyef

But will those 4 pieces be enough for everyone at work?

  16. Embarrassed_Art5414

No way I’d eat that. Whoever made it definitely cut some corners…..

  17. How very kind of you to bring your coworkers 4 brownies to share.

  18. Scooty_Puff_

Why would you take the four worst pieces? You deserve better.

I thought I posted this because that is my counter top and those are my kitchen floors! 🤣

Corner pieces are top tier. Baker’s tax: approved
