I got lunch from a food truck on 49th and 6th and was looking for something tasty and easy to eat. I was not expecting this.

It was seasoned well but it was impossible to eat with just a plastic fork and knife. It is taking me days to cut through.

I would rather it be chopped up for me if buying street food.

if you go south of the border this is how it’s served

That’s carne asada op. Taco Bell serves grilled carne asada. Huge difference.

This is when I just say fuck it and eat it with my hands.

Why would this not be better than chipotle? Chipotle isn’t even authentic

Just pick it up with your hand and eat it

Typically, you’d tear it apart with your fingers, tear a piece off a tortilla, add some of the sides, and eat it that way. Looks awesome.

Edit, wait: Is it fairly thick? Carne Asada served this way should be thin, so you can tear it up. And it needs some Pico de Gallo, unless they put the pico under the steak.

    Still looks tasty though.

I work 20 blocks from there. Guess where I’m before I hit the LIRR home on Monday? Thx for push!

    Way better than Chipotle imo…

Sad state of the world when Chipotle defines for people what carne asada is. Reminds me of a story I read about some reporter who went to Mexico and was following locals making barbacoa. When he said he had had barbacoa before, they asked him where. He said Chipotle. The locals just shook their heads.

Hahahaha I love this. This is literally like your Latino invited you to his backyard barbecue and what he gives you. The plastic fork and knife make it even more accurate.
