The team behind Dupont’s year-old Greek hit Balos brings a new French-influenced bistro to Ballston, Virginia. The Angie will focus on relaxed al fresco dining, with operable windows opening up the 5,700-square-foot space at the foot of a glassy new office building (3901 Fairfax Drive, Arlington, Virginia).

The restaurant will include a barista bar for the morning crowd, plus a full bar, lounge, and dining room that can seat 162 guests during lunch and dinner.

The Angie will feature large windows and airy bistro decor.

Origin Architecture and Design

For the menu, traditional European fare will be melded with upscale American dining techniques. Highlights include ricotta ravioli with Kalamata olives and basil oil, garlic and butter-crusted lobster frites, and roasted Dover sole.

Stefanos Vouvoudakis, Tom Tsiplakos, and Joe Ragonese are collaborating once again on The Angie, after opening Balos late last year to honor their shared Greek heritage. Balos also has a seafood-centric menu, featuring whole fish dishes and an extensive raw bar. Ragonese hails from a NYC restaurant background, while Vouvoudakis and Tsiplakos run NYC-based ForFive Coffee — which has opened seven locations across the D.C. area and fuels the many flavors of expresso martinis at the Greek spot.

The partners’ second D.C.-area restaurant is scheduled to open in spring 2025.
