These are for a client tomorrow (in like 8 hours) and the colors have started bleeding like crazy 😭 i guess it’s too late now. I’m too embarrassed to package them. My friend says they’re fine. I’m so upset because they looked fine when I was making them 😔

Package them anyways. It’s better to have bleeding cookies than no cookies. If you are really embarrassed apologize and give them a discount, or a bonus treat if they have already paid. But definitely deliver them either way.
Hi friend. You’ll learn about bleeding in the next few days, I’m sure of that.
For now, I just want to tell you these things happen. And that’s ok. We’re artists. We work with our hands, brains and hearts. We’re not machines. Therefore, our art is a lot of times “imperfect”. Some things affect our decoration and not all of them are in our control all the time.
I know how it feels to have a deadline for an order and my work doesn’t meet my own expectations. I can feel super bad and worried. And overthinking about what the client is gonna think and how they’re gonna react. But guess what? They never react as bad as we imagine. They understand we’re humans and they trust that we did our best.
Making decorated cookies can feel very lonely. So I’m just here to tell you, you’re not alone. This happens to all of us. We learn from it and get better every time. You got this
I think they’re cute. I had to zoom in to see the whatyouweretalkingabout. It looks like shading.
The bleeding adds “shading” and. depth to the colors. It looks almost intentional!
We’re our own worst critics. I’m not a cookie decorator, so I didn’t even know what was wrong until you mentioned it. As a totally ignorant cookie eater, they look great to me!
Do you add white to your white icing?
I think these are awesome!
The colour combo is chefs kiss!
I think they are going to go down a treat!
I want these to be the new mascot for our subreddit
Just looked through your profile and you’re talented!! As someone with high expectations of myself and my cookies, I get the despair. It’s frustrating when our cookies don’t turn out how we envisioned them. Aside from the bleeding, they are good and your technical ability shines through! Just take it as a learning opportunity. I think your plan to discount these for the client is good, and I would do the same.
Was the icing you used for the face a thinner consistency? It’s hard to tell from the picture, but it kind of looks like maybe it was. That would definitely cause bleeding, especially with black and red.
Not a cookie decorator so I would have never known, but I think they’re so cute!! Don’t be so hard on yourself OP 💜
If I bought these i wouldn’t be upset. They are cute!
Bleeding is SO frustrating. When it comes to character cookies / face details, I usually use very light colors with RI and then use an edible marker to fill in the darker colors. It helps with clean lines and precision too!
ex: I would use the cream colored RI to fill in the face, white RI to fill in the eyes, and then use a red edible marker and black edible marker for the rest. It really helps with the bleed! Especially since red and black are the worst culprits for bleeding.
lol. Your cookies should be the sub image.
They look good to me! Idk what they are supposed to be lol (I’m not familiar with a lot) but I don’t see the problem! And yeah once you have an order messed up by bleeding you’ll do a lot of googling and probably never make that mistake again! It happens to all of us! Just make sure your colors aren’t too runny, you’re colors are 60% dry before adding another layer, and that you add white gel coloring to your whole royal icing batch before you start mixing colors. It prevents the colors from soaking up neighboring colors.
