  1. You may save some money with this carbon rich method, but you’ll also need to nclude a roughly equal amount of GREEN material (nitrogen rich)… otherwise whatever you TRY to grow will likely do very poorly.

  2. I'd say you need a lot more topsoil, what you have in there from the description is like 90% organic with very little in terms of inorganic matter. The ratio in my experience should be aaround 30-40% inorganic in the top layer, or else, you'll have to constantly upfill that bed with new bags of potting mix and it will deteioriate very quickly over the years.

  3. FYI CARDBOARD HAS GLUE BETWEEN THE LAYERS, I NO LONGER BURN IN MY WOODSTOVE. "cardboard can contain chemicals, particularly in its manufacturing process, glues, inks, and coatings, and some types may contain PFAS, also known as "forever chemicals" GOOGLE A.i

  4. I've actually had a lot of success burying my enemies under a nice mix of clean soil and rye straw.
That's how we doit in Nort Jersey

  5. Can you use manure and old hay/straw when stables are mucked out or perhaps wood shavings from a carpenter? Maybe a silly question but it would fill up the beds quite a bit….. or would this cause more bugs?
