Ordered a takeout sandwich with cheese, egg, rocket and cream cheese from an instagram famous cafe that everyone raved about (they said it was a copycat version of erewhon, everything made “organic”)

We ordered two sandwiches via Wolt and this is what we got. I was so disappointed when I saw the cold and stale bread roll. Literally my first bite was just butter and a mountain of rocket. No sight of eggs, just some cheese that looked like plastic.

Should I file a complaint or write a bad review..? What do you guys do in such a situation?

  1. Scam implies being tricked. Paying the asking price for an item and getting the item isn’t a scam no matter how much they are over charging for it because you agreed to the transaction and got what you agreed to.

    Seems like a mistake.

In this scenario, you should give the business a chance to fix the problem before hopping to a bad review online. Contact them (most likely through email on their website – you could try by phone but what are the odds you call exactly when a manager is available to speak to you?), include photos, and politely explain your sandwich was missing a main ingredient. If you feel the quality was so low, explain that you’d prefer a refund to a store credit.

If you don’t receive a response within a week, you might consider leaving a review!

Call them and let them know they fucked up your order. Get the right order or a refund. A bad review is a passive cowards route imo. You paid, get what you paid for. A review won’t get you that.

Tbf, I recently noticed my local gas station sells premade sandwiches for $7. When I saw the price I was blown away. Who in their right mind would pay that for crappy packaged premade sandwich?

  5. LunieTunes

My guess is they make the wrong food, call the restaurant about it.

Where is the sandwich? All I see is a high carb salad.

That’s why i’d never order at an insta famous place

If you bought this in an airport I’d say it’s great value and a steal.

  9. If it’s missing ingredients I would give them a chance to fix that and then judge the finished product – accidents happen.

I want to see what was written in the menu. If they served what they described then you might want or re-evaluate your spending decisions.

I ordered a sandwich and nothing came inside of it but lettuce, what should I do? I know, I will ask the internet instead of getting the proper order, the internet will know what to do…

You got a salad and breadsticks!!! Lucky, lucky you.

  13. nullweirdo

Yes definitely, leave a negative review for sure!!

Also it’s worth noting that the real Erewhon is just as scummy but even more expensive than this UK copycat, Instagram/Youtube famous grocery stores and restaurants aren’t worth it without a paid sponsorship or something.

I was angry for you when I saw that sandwich

  15. First clue should have been insta famous. Those kinds of places have usually blown up in popularity overnight and absolutely can’t handle it properly, or better yet they just always sucked and only happened to have some dumbshit influence pimp their brand.

There’s probably more cost in the packaging.

  17. Ah so you’re the kind of person who actually gets influenced by online influences. “Instagram famous” lmao
