

I made fondue last night for the first time in 6 years. It was a bit of a monumental occasion since I had a fondue pot my parents bought me in Switzerland that was among many beloved items I had to leave behind when I left my abusive ex, and they bought me a new one when I moved back in with them just before covid.
I used a mixture of emmenthal, gruyere and comte, panicked when it looked like it was starting to split, shouted at everyone, knocked back a glass of wine, held my nerve and it turned out imperfect but delicious.
We had it with sliced baguette, apples and boiled new potatoes and all had to have a lie down after.
