You can buy hunks of bluefin at this market in Osaka. Leanest is on the right, fattiest on the left. They will then prepare it for you as sashimi or nigiri.

    Holy cow, I *need* this. Am I reading the prices right? Converted to USD, these are somewhere between $40 and $70 per package? It looks god-tier (and the prices are more than fair by my standards), but I’d blow my whole travel budget at this one place lol. Are booths like this few and far between, or are you likely to find them by accident while visiting the various markets?

  3. I’ve only ever heard bad things about kuromon ichiba from Japanese locals, saying that everything is catered towards foreign tourists with money to spend, not locals. The cuts here look nice, but I’d be curious what the value proposition is vs. a normal supermarket.
