Sundays are for hanging with your cool friends. Cool friends that also happen to have a bar, a live DJ and an open kitchen. In Dubai that’s no other than Chez Wam, residing in The St. Regis Gardens.
Named after the colloquial French term meaning ‘at mine’, this is a modern French restaurant with a twist, boasting a sharing-style menu that whole family is welcome to try (yes, even the little ones). This brunch is one for the whole gang, so take a seat outdoors if weather permits to make the most of the pretty terrace.
Chez Wam was welcomed to the scene in 2023 by chef Hadrien Villedieu and the same team behind other Dubai faves like Tagomago, Twiggy, Mimi Kakushi and La Cantine Du Faubourg.

As you would expect, French classics take centre stage here from the starters to the desserts. The menu seems generous at first glance – two slices of oozing fried camembert with a punchy black garlic dip, tangy and flavoursome wagyu boeuf tartare topped with a thin crisp, zesty and bright sea bass ceviche and charred tomato salad. While the dishes are flavoursome and fresh, portion sizes are on the smaller side.
Poulet adobo with pearl couscous comes as one of the five plates on the table. Sticky sweet soy chicken thighs are enjoyable, but it’s the gorgonzola gnocchi which offers the bite of comfort food you want on a Sunday. The rich wagyu cheeseburger filled with foie gras and Chez Wam sauce is a hit, but a half serving does leave you wanting more.
Chez Wam’s brunch excels with its great attention to beverages. Its drinks are considered and quite frankly, pretty to look at. Mocktails like the basil fido dido is a fresh basil lemonade with a flower tea flavour thrown in, while the elderflower squash option is as refreshing as you would expect, but this time with a secret spice mix, leaving a smoky pink liquid to sip on.

Those always excited by dessert will enjoy the popcorn and double chocolate ganache pudding, but there’s something for everyone with the zesty deconstructed lemon tart with a surprise raspberry sorbet centre.
Chez Wam is all about the interesting ingredient combos and a place to truly feel at home. If you’re an adventurous eater, you’ll enjoy this brunch though just be sure to have dinner plans sorted for after.
