A Portuguese unoaked wine made from the grape Touriga. Produced specificaly to show the grapes youthful aroma and taste which otherwise fades with age.
Aromas of blue and red fruit, Cassis, cherries and violets. A fresh berry forward taste with low acidity, blueberry, cassis, herbs and liquorice finish. Smooth tannins with a medium short finish.
Reminds me of gamay a fresh and young wine though less acidic. Overall a well made wine with nuance and some length. 88 points for a 18$ makes a decent QPR.

Oh yes! Its One of my favourites, tho its best when younger.
Edit: forget about the younger part. For some reason I thought it was 2020.
there are several tyoes of touriga, each with its own flavor. which one it it, or a blend?
Some corrections since i can’t edit the post, the wine is from 2023 and is made from a single grape variety Touriga nacional.
Lovely wine. It’s made with maceration carbonique, just like many Beaujolais are. That’s why the style is so similar. Smuggled it as a pirate into a Beaujo tasting once. It came out on top compared to all Beajolais in the price bracket.
