This really intrigued me so i looked it up and saw that this launched years ago for $400 but the company has since went bankrupt. It apparently needed an app to function which of course no longer exists. Would it be possible to break this open and solder up a display and temp control?

Maybe? Should ask if they tested it. If nothing else, looks like a good sized container to use with a working sous vide.
Edit: hold up… there was a lawsuit for that brand as it apparently required an app subscription to utilize many of the functions. Not sure this is that model though.
According to other posts on this sub, they haven’t found a way to make it work without the app

As a former mellow backer, don’t. It was a great novelty 6-8 years ago but now it’s a pile of junk.
Walmart had the Anova mini for $20. I bought two so I have gifts for people who show interest in trying SV. Last I checked they went up to $28.
I also found a Gramercy kitchen one at my local thrift shop for $10. With my Anova Pro, two minis and the Gramercy,I currently have 4 in the house.
I have a problem.
