Hi, we live in Germany and in one of our dishes some of the ingredients had bite marks (of a small human or medium sized animal). Should I be worried? Of course I threw this stuff away and salvaged everything that was still good, but now I'm kinda worried about the health risk or food safety of the hello fresh stuff..

omg ?
I just envisioned in my head the person sorting those ingredients aggressively biting into that and then throwing it in the bag lmao
Packer was making sure it wasn’t actually cucumber trying to escape.
Did it come with a can?
This is actually hilarious hahaha
The commitment to make sure produce taste fresh has no limits
It has to do with how it’s cultivated or how it was handled during shipping from farm to Distribution Center. It’s health risk would be relatively low since it’s essentially just a cut vegetable that was exposed to the air and kept refrigerated. Just like if you cut some zucchini and left in the fridge for a few days since the max time between cultivation and arrival at the DC is about 1-3 days give or take, then add more time for shipping to your home.
That said this is definitely not up to standard.
Source: I was previously a QA Lead at HF.
Fun fact: There was once a situation where a Production Associate who did take a bite of food on the Production floor. It was reported, and then due to their circumstances they were bought a meal from a fast food restaurant nearby.
I report everything to them, not just for the credit but so they might do something.
Yeah, about that… I was dared to do it, but it wasn’t meant to end up in a bag. That was another thing they thought would be funny. I’m sorry.
You sure you don’t have a toddler in your house? This is what my 2 year old does to random ingredients. One bite out of every tortilla in the bag… We put them back and they become her tortillas.
They wanna make sure it’s FRESH FresH
