If you saw my previous post in this subreddit, I was concerned over the curdling of my milk in my coffee. Lots of helpful redditors said it was the milk. This is right…and wrong at the same time. I’ve been drinking the same milk for over a year now and it’s never done this…but I did change one thing. (For reference, I use Califia organic almond milk.) I used to mix the califia with chobani creamer and then use that it and it never curled and I haven’t switched my pods I use. I started using 1883 syrup and the almond milk instead of chobani (trying to cut calories). This is when I started noticing. So today I did an experiment to lay my curiousity and confusion to rest. Left to right: In the first glass, I have almond milk & coffee. Second glass, I have almond milk, coffee, and syrup. Third glass, I have almond milk, coffee, & pistachio butter. The result is that it is the sugar/syrup affecting it. The plain coffee & almond milk isn’t curdling. The middle one with the syrup is curdling. To confirm this, photo 2 is after I added syrup into glass 1 that previously wasn’t curdling. Mystery solved!
