If you’ve ever thought that a perfect vanilla bourbon, rich and creamy Crème Brûlée was only for fancy restaurants—think again! In this video, I will walk you through how to make this classic French dessert right at home, with just a few ingredients. It’s creamy, rich, and topped with that irresistible crackly caramelized sugar crust.

📌 Here’s what you’ll need and how to make it:

5 egg yolks
¼ cup vanilla sugar
1/8 tsp salt
Whisk together until color lightens
2 cups heavy cream
2 vanilla beans
¼ cup vanilla sugar
1 Tbsp bourbon
Split the vanilla beans in half, scrape out the seeds and put them, along with the pods into the cream in a pot on the stove.
Add sugar and bourbon to the cream and bring it to a simmer
Once simmering, pour the cream through a strainer into a large measuring cup to remove the vanilla bean pods.
Preheat over to 325° and boil some water
Slowly pour the hot cream into the egg yolks while whisking constantly to temper the eggs. Keep mixing until all the cream is mixed in.
Divide the custard between 4 ramekins
Place them in a 9” x 13” pan and fill the pan halfway up the ramekins with hot water
Place the pan in the oven and bake for 40 – 45 minutes. The middle should be slightly jiggly
Leave the ramekins in the water until they have completely cooled. Put them in the fridge over night.
When ready to serve them, remove the fridge and add a teaspoon of sugar over the top. Using your kitchen torch, melt and burn the sugar to get that glass like top your crème brûlée
