Received a lot of hate from r/pizza post. Someone threatened me to never post there again, as this was my first attempt at making pizza larger than a mini bagel. There some positive posts and such. But, the threat I received wasn't called for at all. To be honest, I'm thinking about just leaving that sub entirely and reporting it due to the gate keeping threat.

Yeah, this is a pair of crimes for sure.  There’s enough cheese there to start an entire chain of rat-themed pizza restaurants with this dude I know named Chuck E.

And pizza sauce is not just “any red marinara”.  Wherever you bought that Ragu, there is definitely a section with actual “pizza sauce” that is usually thicker, more seasoned, and cooks with the rest of the pizza if you’re gonna use a canned sauce.

Was it good? If so then that’s all that matters

Pasta sauce on a ‘pizza’? Straight to jail

Probably too much cheese, but it could be worse for a first attempt. I think it’s usually a good idea to go for pizza sauce rather than pasta sauce, since it’s thicker, but I have made some perfectly good pizza with both.

As far as the feedback you got on that sub, try not to care about it. It’s just reddit. None of this is important.

I have seen the face of God

    And it was weeping

What have you done!? This is not just a pizza crime. This is a war crime against all Italians.

I’m placing a call to the embassy now to warn them.

I saw that ragu bottle and almost deleted the app

I’m not a fan of using sketti sauce on pizza, but r/pizza has no right to complain. Their top post of all time is a pineapple pizza. No class.

This crime you have committed is about on par with jaywalking. You get a warning, do not do it again!

Ehh more of a mistake than crime. $100 fine maximum

It is better to just turn yourself in. First time offense, ignorance of the law matters with pizza. Slap on the wrist!

… You do know you can use less sauce, right?

That’s just an insane amount of sauce. How high were you? 😂

    I know two things:

    1) Everybody here is going to tell you those are pizza crimes.

    2) Everybody here would fuck up those pizzas.

Actually, I have no problem with this surprisingly. It’s a good lcollege/struggle/ easy night for the kids to do a byo meal. just use pizza sauce next time I have used spaghetti sauce before and it’s just too thin

This is your first attempt at making pizza. I would hope people would be more encouraging while still offering constructive criticism but this is Reddit so that doesn’t always fly.

Anyway, my verdict: It’s a pizza crime.

Your punishment is to look up pizza recipes and try try again.

(Seriously though, find a good beginner pizza recipe and keep at it! Also, fuck gatekeepy assholes.)

Sauce from a store is a crime in itself.

  17. The ragu and low moisture Mozzarella really sent it over the edge for me 😂 definitely a crime

Sir and or Ma’am, I will have to come to the residence post haste to investigate this alleged crime with my taste buds.
