The nose was insane, floral to the next level. My cousin described it as perfume.

Great wine, even the normal Aalto is great value for money

It’s a nice wine and they get better with age

Ribera del duero doesn’t get the attention it deserves imo. My old colleague and wine buddy absolutely swears by the PS, very nearly bought a few bottles myself, up the wish list it goes

I’ve tried this wine (received it as a gift) and expected a lot from it. Unfortunately it left me quite underwhelmed.

  5. Yeah I really liked it too, surprised to see the negative opinions here. What would make this a bad wine? I assume too much oak?

I’ve had the regular Aalto. Seemed jammy and overripe. Thought I was drinking some Orin swift shit

  7. This wine is awesome, the cellar master past away years ago , so he’s son it’s taking care of the personal protect he had called Sei Solo.

Aalto ps it self I would say need tons of oxygenation , so having it decanted and enjoy the development of those aromas.
Also if you’re able to try older vintages.

Outstanding wine from imo one of the best wine regions!

Altos PS is an absolute jewel. Tried it first time in Spain, Peñafiel. Lucky to get it here in Puerto Rico. Cheers!

Aalto means ”wave” in Finnish and that makes me wonder if there is any connection either to Finland or the Finnish architect and designer Alvar Aalto, but there is no mention of any link in the bodega’s webpage. If anyone has more information, let me know.

Then you’ve not tasted a Barolo from before 2013
