Matty’s Patty’s: tastes like a McDonald’s burger??
We loved the bun but the burger tastes like Mcdonald’s. Maybe it was the sauce/relish?

You should try burger drops
lamebrainmcgee
Never tasted that way for me.

Try JABS!!

Pretty sure the bun is just a seeded martins potato roll

Rudy’s does a really good big mac clone. Their regular burgers still use the big mac style sauce as well.

I thought it tasted better than McD’s.
I don’t get secret sauce, burger sauce, or guk on any of my burgers, though. I haven’t had a Big Mac in 30 years. Quarter Pounder with cheese, if I’m at McD’s.

My partner and I described it as ‘exactly what you hope a Big Mac tastes like’ tbh

Matty’s is a good enough burger, but way overpriced. Burger Drops, JABS, Cabanos, Bindi’s… All better, and cheaper (I think).

New place in parkdale called pitstop burgers is also amazing if you like burger drops.

I tried JABS after seeing them mentioned on Reddit a bunch of times, but I thought Matty’s was way better tbh

All of mattys food is overpriced. Sad 🙁

I never got that impression from Matty’s. It’s not my favourite burger in this city but it’s definitely a good time.
Burger drops is still the undisputed king though, imo.

They went crazy on the sesame seeds LOL

Yeah, I think that’s the idea.
It’s a damn good burger but there’s no shortage of that in Toronto.

Happy burger is my go to. Their waffle fries are also awesome

I miss his first P&L burger shop at Spadina & Queen. It was really good.

Looks like a burger you’d get in an Alabama school cafeteria in the 90s.

Am I the only one who finds the majority of burgers to not be as salty as they should be? It’s almost always the downfall of a burger spot imo, and they would be better served to add more seasoning to the patty. Part of why McDonald’s is so bland to me.

You have to get the thick one!! The smash burger at all places are subpar

Too much mustard. Therefore not McDonald’s at all

The sesame bun and toppings put it in that realm. But if you think the patty tastes the same, I think you maybe haven’t had McDonalds in a while. Marty’s is far from the best in the city but it’s certainly a notch above low tier fast food.

I think that’s the point. An elevated McDonald’s burger.

It’s good/great. But for the price it doesn’t make me want to come back
