Not gonna lie, that is a terrible title! Starvation, hunger, and poverty are no laughing matter…

Today, I created a small platter of stale crackers melted with Colby jack cheese from the Dollar Store and topped with flakes from tinned sardines, a few pickled beets out of a jar, and the drizzle of balsamic glaze.

I anticipated a waste of food, but the combo was surprisingly delicious! Never forget, while on the journey of food, the story is you!

I appreciate the effort you made, even if I wouldn’t eat them. You’re making the best of what you can afford right now, and that’s a great attribute to have.

The entire combination doesn’t sound appealing to me, but I *am* interested in the pickled beets and balsamic glaze/sardines combination. I’m trying to eat more sardines for health reasons but am not really fond of them. Pickled beats or balsamic glaze might be good “distracting” flavors.

Never give up, eat what you have to. I lived on black beans and canned sardines for a few months once. This looks pretty nice!
