You should call them and ask if they are ok. This is some serious depression stuff.

  2. Where’s the flavor? The spice? They got protein and veggies in there but no joy

  3. Sexisthunter

I love asparagus with all my heart, but what the hell is that???

  4. WinifredZachery

Why do I get the feeling that the friend is German…

  5. cattermelon34

What’s wrong, babe? You barely touched your aspara-ghost

  6. I see eggs and ham and white asparagus, but what are the little round things?

  7. MoobooMagoo

Other than the weirdly ghostly asparagus this looks tasty

  8. SausageBuscuit

“Hmmm…I only have one egg. Maybe if I cut it in sixteenths it will feel like I have more.”

  9. Besteklade

Just needs some sauce to pull it all together.
    Looks jummy to me

  10. Skate_faced

A rare disorder where a persons tongue is totally smooth aside from three distinct tastebuds.

    Only explanation I got.

  11. Bildungsfetisch

    …that’s a fairly balanced meal.

White asparagus with sliced ham is good. Lots of protein, some but not all carbs…

I’d personally miss some sauce but yeah, that’s a normal meal

  12. ninalice_b

Eh honestly I’d eat that. With a nice homemade mayo or something

  13. Is that asparagus or sprouts of fungus from the last of us?

  14. Embarrassed_Angle_59

Add some hollandaise sauce and we’re done

  15. rotundanimal

The meal isn’t the problem, it’s the fact they thought it was worth posting

  16. StrawbraryLiberry

It looks like an alien meal being eaten underwater

  17. DiamondTippedDriller

Looks like the German hospital food in a mental ward (don’t ask how I know)

  18. Doctor_What_

    This isn’t a meal, it’s a cry for help.

  19. Happy_Foundation6198

Just missing the sauce. otherwise a normal white asparagus dish

White Asparagus is delicious, but it has an outer skin that’s tough as kevlar so you do have to peel them first. They’re much more delicate, less asparagy, but still retain a nice flavor. They are excellent with hard boiled eggs, hollandaise, or an herbaceous infused beurre-blanc.

This, as a deconstructed dish, has many of the same ingredients as one of the composed dishes I served when I worked Michelin in NYC.

Pickled jalapeño and hollandaise with egg on top of white asparagus. Hit it with a little Maldon and then top that off with chives & some chervil and you’ve got a pretty tasty little meal.

  21. SuperSparerib

Soft-boil those eggs, add some hollandaise, and id DEVOUR that shit

  22. Hyperborealius

has your friend recently discovered keto?

  23. Castille_92

Guessing your friend is on a weight loss journey? I see plates like this often in weight loss groups so it doesn’t even look weird to me lol

  24. Platinum-Chan

Asparagus season is upon us, and now we shall feast.

  25. sheneversawitcoming

Showed my Dutch husband: “this is Dutch and FANTASTIC. They can go fuck themselves”

  26. NoHunter9773

It might just be me but I think it looks fire in a simple way 🤣

  27. I_might_be_weasel

It’s not even the quality of the food or the combination of foods that bothers me. It’s how much time someone spent curating the plating of it all.

  28. PyraAlchemist

It’s rather autism or being Dutch or German.
