I was about to buy some food grade PLA 3d printed cookie cutters I just read this article which has made me hesitant:

They say one time use is the safest. Do they truly mean to buy it, use it once, and then never again??? I couldn't imagine the plastic waste! Also they talk about applying a food safe coating to reduce bacteria forming in the crevices but I'm wondering if that coating would leech into the dough also? I was going to use them with plastic wrap over the dough but they said it could cut through. I'm so conflicted
I love all the options with the 3d printed cutters but I'm wondering if I should just stick with the stainless steel? Do any companies make more unique stainless cutters similar to the 3d printed ones?

A food safe coating is food safe, and would not leach into food. That’s what makes it food safe
No answers to your questions, however we’re already filled with so much microplastic what’s a little more! /s 😭😂
