I've been making loaves recently
- Flour: 500 g
- Water: 375 g
- Leaven: 125 g
- Salt: 10 g
4 folds (30 mins), roughly 5 hours warm proofing.
I found the tins a little odd to maneuver with a mitten or cloth, so I got these silicon oven gloves. They've been working great!

Breaking Loaves
The silicon oven gloves have been working great for me! Kinda feel like the left, but I know I’m more like the right 🙂

I love my silicone spaceman gloves
As I was scrolling onto the photo, I thought the right hand was a giant, weird crab claw. I’m happy that it isn’t.
That’s lowkey sick… I work in a bakery, how heat resistant are these….
Mine are mitts, I like you’re so much better. Still, nice to never have to worry about burns any more.
These a my favorites.

They look like Lego hands and now I want some 🤣
I don’t trust them 😭 I’ve been burned too many times in the past pun intended
also it’s amusing bc they look a little like lego minifig hands 😂
I bought grill gloves. They work very well for taking the Dutch oven out and whatnot. Although, for real grilling, I’d get something different. I can feel the heat when I take the Dutch ovens out of the oven. I think next time I’ll go woh a different material, these are mostly cloth.
What temperature are you cooking the loaves at?
Yes please provide temperature and cooking times!!
I love my silicone oven mitts
Do you have any issues with the loaves sticking to the pans?
