My grandpa used to make candied orange peel. Us kids didn’t really like them. I think that’s partly why he made it – so we wouldn’t beg for some like we did his white chocolate (the real thing not the stuff sold today).
Seriously??? In USA… I don’t think so!!! Oranges are sprayed with TOXINS it’s hard enough forcing myself to eat an orange once in a while because we NEED Vit C!🤦🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🙏🏽
Why woukdnt you use the same wayer they soaked in fir 12 hours it contains the essence of the peels already and would be best to use if you're using organic oranges

Citrus PITH contains phytonutrients NOT FOUND in any other plant or animal product.
I intentionally RETAIN and EAT the PITH of lemons (which have the highest concentration of the one specific phytonutrient I value). I make DRIED peel + pith strips from ALL citrus & add it to a coffee based liquid to which I add 14 other beneficials.

When you are throwing away the water you boiled in, you are throwing away most of the nutrients and you are left with almost waste to sugarcoat

I know the taste of these, I make it every Christmass….and I always make also orange peel dipped in dark chocolate ….absolutely delicious.
