    IMO 1701 BBQ is not good. If you want good BBQ in Southeast Texas, go to Red Bird BBQ. It’s my favorite in Texas so far.

    Solid choices: Bar A and the Tejas crews are damn good people and great Q. Truth is an institution and Leonard keeps a friendly crew around at all times (great bar, too). Pinkerton’s ribs are some of the best around, and more good people. The only one I wouldn’t recommend people to on this list is Pit Room, I solely go there for their breakfast tacos.

    If you ever make it back to Stiles Switch, get the Serrano Glazed Pork Belly Burnt Ends. Might be my favorite thing on their menu.

    Truth has a sister location in Round Top called Merritt bbq!! I work next door and let me tell you it is dangerous 😂 they’re SO good. Leo is a gem!
