Happy 2nd week of #FilipinoFoodMonth! 🇵🇭✨

Today, I made Cornsilog! The Philippines is known for their amazing breakfasts, but I wanted to make one a little less common than with Tosilog, Longsilog, Spamsilog, or Tapsilog (probably the most known -silogs, there are tons though). Cornsilog is silog (sinangag + itlog) with corned beef hash! It’s super easy and tasty.

My mom used to make this for us when we were growing up now and then (it’s not the healthiest meal, obvs, but it’s still yummy and not bad once in a while), not just for breakfast, but sometimes for lunch when she wanted to make something quick. I remember asking my non-Filipino childhood friends if they liked corned beef and rice, and they were like huh?! Well, this is what it is.

What you need for corned beef hash:
☀️Canned corned beef
☀️Diced potatoes
☀️Chopped onion
☀️Minced garlic
☀️Diced tomato
☀️Salt and pepper

To make garlic fried rice:
☀️Cooked white rice
☀️Little bit of oil
☀️Minced garlic
☀️Salt

Heat oil, fry garlic until golden and the garlic has flavored the oil, break apart rice and put into pan, add salt to taste, and fry until garlic and salt evenly distributed.

If you make this, please let me know what you think!
