Honestly interested here. We generally never order something we can do just as well at home… Really don't want to get something and feel meh.

Sirloin’s are ok, but I’m all about the Ribeye

  2. I_am_not_kidding

I’d get the ribeye, but if you don’t like having all the waste get the filet. Those are expensive sirloins.

  3. Terrible-Internet-75

The answer is always the Rib-eye. Get a larger custom cut to share and then maybe share the ribs or another cut too!

  4. Apprehensive-Sail815

That’s a decent price for filet. I always cook ribeyes at home so filet is my go to when I’m out.

  5. dolfan1980

I’m not a fan of bacon wrap on filet, so rib eye for sure.

  6. i wish steak was this cheap at our steakhouses in canada 🤣

  7. Wallnuts1225

32 bucks for a filet at a steak house is a steal.

If your about flavor get the Ribeye. If your about tenderness get the Filet. Ever wonder why they always serve Blue Cheese or Bacon with a Filet? It’s due to the low fat/flavor content of the meat. While a Ribeye isn’t as tender as a Filet it still offers a great mouthfeel and it actually tastes like beef.

I usually go for the ribeye in restaurants. Not that they usually cook it better than I do (not bragging, just the truth) it’s not as easy to fuck up. I’ve never had a decent restaurant sirloin….

  10. Ribeye because it’s my fave cut. Good marbling. Tender. A lot of flavor. Sirloin an be tough and a bit dry. Filets are too lean for me… missing fat flavor.

  11. MOSbattery

Butcher here, all but ribeye have descriptions that say sirloin in them😒

Nothing wrong with a GOOD sirloin but you don’t really know where it’s coming from since that muscle is huge and they’re being called names like cowboy cut and not a muscle.

Ribeye is easily identifiable with the cap and fat running around top. You would easily get closer to your moneys with that

Bacon wrapped filet…aka our meat sucks so we need to add flavor.

  13. PinkyPowers

16oz Ribeye would be my go-to. Hell, make it 22oz! Really treat yourself!

  14. Ok-Anteater-384

I’d get a burger smothered with onions and fries

I feel scammed when paying for a steak dinner that I don’t end up enjoying. I rather load up a burger with condiments that will satisfy my taste buds and easier on my wallet.

Any steakhouse that bacon wraps a filet sounds like a steakhouse not so good at steaks.

Ribeye would be the way to go but I wouldn’t expect it to be good.

Im in Texas, haven’t gone to a steak house in years since I started raising my own cattle for beef/steaks.

  16. This may be sacrilege in this subreddit.. but when I go to steakhouses…. I get a burger… Or even the chicken or fish…

I can cook a better steak at home. And for cheaper. Every time I go to a steak house and get steak I spend the whole meal lamenting what I would have done differently . That it’s just not worth the cost… To me.

the chicken. those prices indicate a low end “steak joint” and i am gonna be disappointed. I can consistently cook steak better than any chain or non hyper high end restaurant and I am probably more consistent than most high end steak joints. IF you are asking which cut I would prefer if made correctly it is the rib-eye. IF i went to a place with friends for the company and that was the actual menu I would pick the ribs

  18. This is a lower level restaurant. I expect that they are lying about the cuts of beef. You are told it is a rib eye, but you ate served the sole of an apes foot. I would get the ribs here.

  19. Fun_Can_4498

I usually order NY Strips, none on this menu…

  20. TwistIll6832

Honestly, after seeing that menu I would go somewhere else if you are wanting a good steak experience. My preference is going to be the rib-eye but if you can go somewhere that dry ages and knows what you mean when you order it Pittsburgh, (personally I do Pittsburgh medium rare on a rib-eye because it helps to break down the fats a little more) then you will have something that is really a great experience

I ask the server what’s the best cuts on deck today, and factor their advice into my decision. Often they know what to “steer” away from (see what I did there) lol

A filet mignon is always amazing but I feel like it being bacon wrapped makes the choice of the 22oz sirloin the no brainer. Sirloins are still an amazing tasting cut imo and don’t get me wrong, bacon is amazing 🤤 but wrapping it around a filet mignon I feel is over hyped. I feel like the two flavors bash. Also paying only $3 more for an extra 14oz of meat. I hope dinner is amazing for you ❤️

  23. 568Byourself

I get the filet or the ribeye, I make sirloins at home.

I probably get filets about 3 times more often than a ribeye, mainly just because a ribeye is a ton of red meat, and I like to eat all the sides

  24. At this joint? I’d probably get a burger and save my hard earned money to spend at the butcher’s.
