$15 at Costco excellent value. I wouldn’t pay 30 tho. Stemmy strawberry yum.

I’ve had at least a couple of their wines and in a word: “meh.”

I didn’t pour it out, but even at its relatively modest price, you can find more interesting wines.

Got one on clearance at Kroger.
    Meh.
Wasn’t terrible, wasn’t good enough to purchase again at full price.

Had it once, enjoyed it, probably wouldn’t get it again though.

A little backstory: my husband went to the store today, and while he was out, I texted him to grab a bottle of Pinot Noir. When he got home, he held it up all proud and goes, “Look at this bottle! This is a real nice bottle of Pinot Noir I got us.” I hadn’t tried it before, so I was like, “I wonder what people on Reddit think about it.” So I posted it, and while we patiently waited for the comments to come in, he poured us both a glass and we cheers’d.

I’m super new to red wine – literally just started appreciating it after only drinking dry whites forever – so I’m still figuring out what I like. This one poured kind of a lighter red, almost with a little brown to it. On the nose I picked up some cherry, raspberry, maybe a hint of oak. It’s slightly acidic, and I didn’t really get much tannin from it. Not bad, but I think I’m still figuring out what kind of red I really love.

  6. It was one of the free wines at a fundraiser I went to last year. I feel like that is a perfectly fine venue for it.

Not something I’d buy on purpose. It’s fine.

  7. All Pinot is just kinda weak. IMO. I just did a tasting and we had Kumeu river and craggy. And the craggy was good. But nothing even close to as good as the 2020 Fromm Syrah we had.

Costco available wine, I remember being slightly disappointed for the price but it’s perfectly serviceable overall. Much better than all of their Kirkland Pinots that I’ve tried

If you are new to red wine, starting on the lighter side, is a good idea, and aside from Pinot noir, something like a Grenache or Garnacha (depending on where it’s from), or a Brouilly, are also great lighter reds.

Tres Picos Garnacha is a great wine, consistent value, and widely available.

George Duboeuf Brouilly or a Louis Jadot Sous les Balloquets Brouilly would be recommendations as well.

    I hope this helps.

I buy it when I’m traveling and have to buy multiple bottles for people who know I drink wine, but don’t appreciate good wine themselves. They always love it and it’s usually on sale at Kroger / big liquor / big wine stores.

I don’t buy it for myself but there’s nothing wrong with liking it, especially on sale.

I like it and will order it when I see it on a menu. For my palette it’s delicious.

I enjoy it! Ordered it from a restaurant happy hour menu (normally $13 a glass, I think I paid $7… I can get it for $20 a bottle at Kroger and Costco so no way I’d pay full price).

It’s funny, i looked it up here before I ordered, found another thread where some people liked it, now some people here say meh. So take it for what you will.

Base level of drinkable Pinot imo, so long as you get it at a sale ish price sub $20usdits ok qpr. It’s hard to find good Pinot at lower pricing (sub $50) but it can certainly be found with time and effort and perhaps inside knowledge or wine club membership. Keep tasting and enjoying.

It varies a lot by year. Never a huge fan but some are better than others

Solo, not that good…. in the summer try a sangria with it, it works well.

  16. Did a tasting there once. People were really nice and it’s a cool venue but felt the wines were average/underwhelming. Went to Reeve before that and their wines were much better
