I like smokin pecan a lot. But I will say, idk what kind of voodoo bear mountain puts in their mesquite, but man it pops in beef ribs so much. The flavor, bark and smoke ring all go big. Kirkland pellets at Costco for value tho can’t be beat. 40 pounds for 13$ here in Los Angeles

    Cookinpellets.com hickory.

    Or Pit Boss competition blend.

Hey boss don’t know if you care but your license plate is definitely visible.

I tend to favor the comp blend mostly because of the absolute random stuff that I throw on my smoker I do know that it makes some hella good burgers and pretty good job with most big cuts of meat

I like Lumberjack brand, Hickory is my go to.

10/10 the Lumberjack Conpetition blend. Amazing smoke flavor and works for everything.

Lumberjack or Bear Mountain… apple or hickory typically.

I use Lumber Jack whenever I can. Here is a list of the woods I use depending on what’s being cooked.

    â—‹ Chicken Breasts
â—‹ All Things Pork (Chops, Ribs, Shoulders)

    – Bourbon Barrel w/ Brown Sugar (cabelas)
    â—‹ Pork Shoulder
    â—‹ Twice Smoked Ham

    – Competition Blend (Pit Boss)
    â—‹ Chicken Wings
    â—‹ Bacon
    â—‹ Burgers
    â—‹ Smoked Queso

    – Cherry (Lumber Jack)
    â—‹ Salmon
    â—‹ Gouda

    – Cherry Charcoal (Camp Chef)
    â—‹ Pizza

    – Pecan/Oak Blend (Lumber Jack)
    â—‹ Turkey
    â—‹ Chex Mix
    â—‹ Mac-n-Cheese
    â—‹ Brisket

    – Whiskey Barrel (Louisiana Grills)
    â—‹ Carne Asada
    â—‹ Steaks

  10. Bear Mountain is my go to, but Pit Boss comp blend from Walmart is a decent backup for it being cheap.

Bear mountain gourmet blend is my go to but any bear mountain brands is good the smoke they produce gives a nice bark especially when you add a smoke tube I’m not a fan of pit boss pellets they give nice smoke but doesn’t give great bark in my opinion then again test out different brands and flavor and get a smoke tube for that extra smoke

Honesly I can’t tell the difference. On a stick burner there is a huge difference. Pellet I can’t tell the difference between Apple or misquite

  13. Wonderful-Camel-1003

I prefer PB competition blend, but usually buy what’s on sale.

Lumberjack or Bear Mountain. I use Hickory or Pecan in my smoke tubes and competition blend in my hopper.
