if charcoal isn’t your thing i wouldn’t get that big setup. just get the kettle by itself

  2. Granitest8hiker

I don’t care what anyone says grilled food always taste better on charcoal man that flavor is unreal. I love my smoker but that’s not really a grill.

  3. mytzlplyk

I would grab it. I’ve used everything but I have always been a charcoal griller. I have the same kettle minus the table. Get a full size chimney and learn how offset coals (half hot) work with different meat. I will say, if your scope is more burgers and hot dogs then you’re out of your league but if your sights are on the 2” tomahawk then get that bad boy and post your good eats.

They usually go for $125-$150 used in my area. Picked one up last year and it’s all I ever use now.

  5. PidgeySlayer268

I’ve got one and I love it but I paid $80 for mine used. $250 seems a little high.

Grab it. Learn to use charcoal.

I don’t understand propane grills. Just cook inside with the window open if you’re going to use gas.

Oh man you will absolutely LOVE that grill. I have smokers, traegers, grills and my master touch Weber is the most used. Having the performer model makes everything more comfortable. That’s a great deal

  8. Go for it. I switched to charcoal 14 years ago and could never look back. Luckily I’m far away from neighbors where the smoke doesn’t bother them when the coals are lighting up 😂😂. It’s a reason I may never move again!!

Let’s say you don’t like charcoal, still jump on this deal. Wait a few weeks then repost for $500 g double your money.

    That’s a smokin’ deal (pun intended 🤣)

I picked one up like that a few years back when a neighbor put it out for bulk trash pick up day. I cleaned it up and used it for a few years. I was never that good at temp control on those so I picked up a Traeger and got rid of the Weber. I do miss the direct heat. I was recently at a habitat, restore and found a BGE for $300. The couple times I have grilled. I had much better luck than I did with my Weber and currently I am smoking a pork shoulder on it. It’s giving me the direct fire control that I had with my Weber and the smoking temperature control of my Traeger. Yes, the BGE is a very expensive piece of kit, but so far in my limited use it is the most consistent cooker I have. That’s probably more to do with the owner than the grills, however, But just my experience.

As for the Weber, go for it. If that’s a fair market value, and you do not like it, you’ll get back most of what you’ve paid for it if you flip it. I found all of my grills used and have a total of $600 in my four burner Blackstone, my XL Traeger, and my large BGE. For the price I’m more than happy to learn on them and keep them.

For at Weber, I really did like the propane burner/ignitor, the built-in table and the self cleaning ash grate on the bottom.

Charcoal all the way, but this is overpriced
I got one for 75 bucks not long ago I’ve gotten basic ones for under 50 quite a few times I think I paid 20 bucks once for a performer

  12. Longjumping-Bug-6643

i got those same exact utensils. even the scraper lol

  13. khiggs19932020

I think you can get this for way less. I would keep an eye on it and i bet in 2 weeks he will be willing to take 150. I see these all the time in my area, and they sell for 150 at most

  14. pickledbanana6

I have tongs that look pretty similar. They click like really really well. I’m not sure I’d drop $250 on them but it looks like some okay extras that come with them. I’d say go for it.

  15. PoliticalMalarkey

I picked up a performer like this for $50. It had a fiberglass shelf that degraded so I got a warranty claims approved to replace it with a new steel shelf. It’s all I use now. My gas 3 burner weber collects dust now lol. Charcoal is the way

  16. lakeswimmmer

Grillen over charcoal tastes tastes so much better, and I love using a propane side burner to light a chimney of charcoal

  17. DirectCustard9182

Definitely. I bought one last year for $50 off a guy who doesn’t grill. My first time with charcoal. I’m still learning but love it.

  18. hanyacker

I just replaced my 20 year old Weber Performer with a brand new one. It’s a great grill and this looks like a great deal. If you do get this, I’d recommend getting a hose to connect a 20 pound propane tank to it. Those 1 pound tanks will run to money after a while.

  19. Entire_Activity7391

That looks just like my old performer. It’s an amazing grill! You won’t be disappointed at that price. I just wish I could have taken mine with me.

  20. el_smurfo

I have probably cycled through half a dozen Weber grills off Craigslist free. Id start there if you are uncertain you will use charcoal. I use gas 90% of the time and keep a Weber kettle for special occasions.

  21. TxTanker134

For $250, I’d jump! My 15 year old one just like this still rocks everyday

  22. oingerboinger

I have this exact grill (well different color) and I absolutely love it. The propane starter is clutch for not having to “work the fire” too much. Great find and great grill.

  23. cajones321

I sold this exact setup about 4 years ago for the same price. It’s a very good deal at this point.

  24. Nadsworth

Too big for my taste. I prefer just a kettle, but yes, charcoal is infinitely better than gas.

  25. VaWeedFarmer

Well worth it. I have had the new one for 2 years, which replaced a Performer i had forever. The gas ignition makes starting goals a breeze. Grill, sear, smoke. Doesitall.

On the fence about charcoal?? 🤔
I would say it’s time to get off the fence bud. If you’re serious about grilling; charcoal or hard wood are the only options IMO.

  27. YTraveler2

I have had one of these for 12 years now. I love my Weber!!! Burgers, steaks, chicken, fish, shrimp, ribs. About 6 years ago I did our Thanksgiving turkey! I will never go back!!

It is super simple with the butane to get the charcoal lit. And it has to bin on the side for charcoal storage. My only wish is they made this in the 26″ size and not just the 22″.

I light my charcoal and then when it is good and hot, just as I am going to put the food on, I put a couple of chunks of wood on the coals. Put the food on and close the lid for it gets good smokey flavor.
