My former boss dropped this off to me today, for free. He bought the large version to replace this medium one.
Can’t wait to try it out, been watching YouTube videos all day.

The large is always gonna haunt you, but you can feed 2-4 people pretty comfortably with an M.
I’ve had the M for about 5 years now, and it’s a joy once you figure it out.
My best tips: 1) first purchase is kick ash basket no question no rebuttals, 2) you can get by with the little tool for ash removal, but a dedicated shop vac would do wonders, 3) don’t just dump any old charcoal bag over. Fine and small particles clog these up badly, and it’s all about airflow. 4) keep your eyes peeled for the thermometer to fail you in time, you may need to replace before long.

It’s an absolute Imperative for you to smoke a nice meal and take it over to show your gratitude. Why not cook up a Boston Butt? Feed him and his family for a week.
