Recently I used some bagged potting soil to transplant some seedlings into large pots. Very soon I found a white mold growing on top of the soil and naturally I was pretty concerned. I let the pots dry out and the fungus disappeared. Since this happened with two different bags of soil (of the same type) I thought I should probably just make my own soil for my transplants. By making my own soil I can control what is in the mix and make sure that it is just right. It’s actually a little more cost effective to make your own potting soil especially if you compost at home. In the video I go through the steps to make a DIY potting soil mix for vegetable garden transplants. Talk about the ingredients for the soil mix and breakdown the costs.
