I put one very cold in my smoker. Half hour with heavy smoke. Take it out, still cool, bag it, then SV for 24 to 36 hours. Cool, brown the outside. Liquid smoke could be an option if no smoker. Slice thin and have some great sandwiches.

  2. Looks awesome. Does finished product handle well with freezing some for later?
Can’t eat Deli Meats anymore cause I’m fat and lazy and…well, sodium and nitrates 🤣 But I love deli style sandwiches so been looking ways do homemade get around the crap in modern deli meat.

My phone did this too, I had to go into the advanced settings and change the white balance manually.

  4. Did you use a deli slicer or manually slice with a knife?

Are those thick cuts easy enough to bite through? The only thing stopping me from doing this is feeling like I’d need a deli slicer to get good sandwich slices.

Looks fab OP! I did 132 for 48 my first go around, I got scorned (right fully so). How many shoot for this set up next time!

That beats the heck out of paying $12/pound for processed roast beef loaded with salt and preservatives. I have no idea why everyone doesn’t do that. On r/frugal people are always asking how to eat inexpensively. This is the answer. Learn to cook. Make your own. It tastes better, it’s healthier, and it’s less expensive.

    Good on you shawarmaking15!
