McDonald’s is finally revealing to the world what goes in to making the Golden Arches French fry.
Footage gives a glimpse behind the scenes of the fast food giant’s factory as part of a series called Our Food – Your Questions.
Mythbusters host Grant Imahara does seem to establish that the main ingredients is ACTUAL potato and these are grown on an ACTUAL farm.
Fries: Crispy treat where every fry tastes the same
Probe: Host gets shown how they are made
However, there are several agents and sugar used to ensure that every fry looks the same.
They are also fried twice – first at the factory before being frozen to give them a crispy coating and again at individual branches.
Dirt: McDonalds fries comes from actual potatoes
Spuds: Assorted potatoes awaiting the Mcdonald’s treatment
The potatoes – once cleaned and peeled on an industrial scale – are fired at up to 70mph into a sharpened grid – it is spud carnage.
The Maccy D’s potatoes are split into fry form and then go on to be beautified elsewhere in the factory.
What do you think is the main ingredient of a Big Mac?
