Mediterranean Palace is set to open in McKissack Park this summer, its owner confirmed with Nashville Post.
To operate at 2800 Clifton Ave., the establishment will offer gyros, pizza, wings, burgers, salad and protein plates, said owner Mina Boshra. The restaurant will be open from 10 a.m. until late at night.
The building in which Mediterranean Palace will operate is owned by David Swett, owner of meat-and-three restaurant Swett’s, which is located catty-corner from the building. Swett bought the multi-unit building in November for $1.9 million.
It is unclear if Mediterranean Palace is replacing a previous tenant or taking a space within the building and that has sat empty.
Mediterranean Palace is the first restaurant for Boshra, who has worked in the food industry for 20 years, he told the Post.
“We just want to bring high-quality food to the area, and be open late because I noticed most of the areas in the two- to three-mile radius do not offer that,” he said.
Work begins on Nashville Yards pastry shop
Renovation is set to begin for a pastry shop slated for Nashville Yards, according to a Metro permit.
As the Post reported in December, Sweet Paris Crêperie & Café will soon operate in the new downtown development, with a completion date set for late summer, according to a spokesperson for the project.
The Houston-based parent company of Sweet Paris Crêperie & Café offers 22 locations, according to its website, with a presence in Texas, Florida, Minnesota, Arizona and Mexico. The company was founded in 2012.
Sho Pizza now open
Chef Sean Brock’s latest concept, Sho Pizza, opened Monday.
The establishment promises pizza using a wood-burning pizza oven and seasonal ingredients, according to its website. The name comes from Japanese word “shokunin,” or full commitment to a craft.
The kitchen will also offer salads, small plates like tuna crudo and cured meats, plus “foldie” sandwiches made from Sho’s dough, Post sister publication, Nashville Scene reports. Located at 2300 Riverside Drive, the restaurant offers 30 seats and a chef’s counter.
Brock is the chef and restaurateur behind Joyland, Audrey and June. He also previously operated Husk restaurants.
