I poked holes in it and microwaved 5 minutes. I stuck a knife in it and it was still a little under done, so I did 1 more minute until it was tender.

With sone butter, cheese, bacon bits, onion, and pickled jalapeños it was exactly what I was craving.

I would prefer the oven, but microwave is fine when it's hot weather.

The jalapeños put it over the top.

One of the cheapest meals I know of, and I love how many things are great in potatoes.

    1 medium potato

    4 pats of butter

    Chopped onions, to taste

    6 slices pickled jalapeños.

    Bacon bits, to taste.

Poke holes in the potato and microwave 5 or 6 minutes or until tender, adding more time if needed.

Add butter and cheese. Add the rest of the ingredients.

    Hi

    Trick I learned

Take 2 sheets of good quality paper towel and keep connected

    Moisten with water

Wrap baking potato that you have punctured with fork

Microwave on plate on high about 5 min depending on size of potato 🥔

Went the first ~20 or so years of my life without ever having an actual baked potato, they got baked in the microwave. Skin is crap compared to the oven but whatever, takes 1/10 of the time and it gets you 90% of the way there

They make potato pockets for just this. They’re cheap and made to stick potatoes in for microwaving. I really like mine, you sacrifice the crispy skin you get in the microwave but it’s so much faster

People never microwaved a potato? Also air fryer is good option for them as well without heating the house up
