REDDING, Calif. — Honeymoon’s, a new restaurant in Redding, has opened its doors at the former location of Moonstone Bistro on Placer Street. The owners, Kate and Joseph Wood, who also run The Bantam Kitchen in East Redding, have shifted from their original comfort food menu to offer Southern French Cajun cuisine at their new establishment.
The name “Honeymoon’s” is a tribute to the place where the couple first met, as Joseph Wood previously worked at Moonstone Bistro.
“This place and what they built had such a great reputation and such a wonderful clientele and we think that making it a little more approachable, offering the style of food we’re going to offer, we can see it being wildly successful and we know that it’s crazy to do this and we always felt a little crazy to be restaurant owners, but we love it and are just super passionate about it,” said Kate Wood.
The owners aim to create a vibrant and active atmosphere, particularly with the renovations to their patio. Honeymoon’s will host an official ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday at 11 a.m. Initially, the restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. until Friday, with plans to extend their hours to 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days after Easter.
