I know a lot of folks don’t sift their pellets before dumping them into the hopper, and I usually only do the bottom third of the bag or so. But, if you do sift, this $4 minnow bucket does a really good job. Lets you get a big scoop and has lots of holes just the right size to let fines and dust through without any pellets getting by. There is lots of debris in the bottom of all pellet bags, and I don’t want that junk piling up under the auger or lighting in the fire box and flying around the smoker like a jet fighter. Just a simple tool if you are so inclined to sift. If not, keep on doing whatever works for you. Smoke on brothers!

Brother, you don’t have to run a fuel filter on a gasoline engine either, and you will probably never have a problem. But I CHOOSE to run fuel filters on my vehicles, boat motor, even my lawn mower. Don’t make it right or wrong. I make me happy and leave everyone else to make themselves happy with what they choose to do. If dumping that whole bag of pellets in the hopper works for you, keep doing it. Ain’t no problem to me. Just enjoy smoking and let others do the same. We all different.
