Has anyone else had this happen? Ours was only 1 year old. It’s possible that a knob was left slightly ajar after grilling one evening but it exploded overnight leaving a hole in the side and the body totally wrecked. Shouldn’t happen. Thankfully we keep it away from the house so no one was injured.

In case it helps in the future, I turn my tank on and off each time I use it. It eliminates having to trust all the downstream gear.

Where’s the hole? All I see is carbon residue on the grill. Grab some easy off and spray it on top to clean off the residue. If you did in fact have an explosion, you might have to replace the cables and connections on the inside. Weber’s customer support might be able to help you out.

Turn the gas off after every use. Dont have to worry about in won’t be an issue.

We don’t know that the gas wasn’t turned off but regardless the worst case scenario should be an empty propane tank the next day… not an explosion
