Loro has to be my favorite restaurant in Austin. I have yet to have a bad meal, like no joke. It can get a little pricy but this meal was only $15 during their happy hour for 8 smoked wings and a cabbage ginger salad that is flames. Also, 9 times out of 10 they hook it up with a free fountain drink. Vibes are also immaculate. Love the light shinning in from the roof. Plus the have jelly fish on tap!?! If you’re on the fence about checking this place out, do yourself a favor and slide thru.

I never got a free drink. You must be attractive looking

The one at domain is not upto the same standards as the dt location

It’s hard to imagine a collab between Tyson Cole and Jonathan Franklyn not being anything but excellent. I think Loro is my wife’s favorite anytime restaurant. I enjoy it quite a bit also but I was expecting more out of the brisket. Like you said, everything I’ve ever had is consistently good, including the cocktails. I know it’s a simple thing, but their corn fritters are one of my favorite snacks around town. Great spot inside and out. We always go early to beat the wait.

I still dig it, but last time I went it was a huge let down. Waited for an hour to be seated, then every single dish we got was cold and stale. Will give it another shot or two, but I was really bummed, especially considering it’s not cheap outside of happy hour

  5. Wow they have jellyfish on tap?? Must be big shots

Really good happy hour with the food. I like the Domain location. Haters be damned

  7. BeardedLooper

The domain location needs to be shut down. It’s ruining their image.

I don’t eat beef so maybe that’s why but I feel like Loro has to be one of the most overhyped restaurants in Austin

Damn when I went the queso was ice cold and the chips were rubbery and stale! I’m glad your experiences have been better!

the frozen cocktails i received had a weird texture and aftertaste. idk, anyone have the same experience?

The happy hour is so good it’s hard for me to justify going outside those hours. The salmon dip is killer, as is the chicken sandwich.

Was literally leaving the parking lot when I saw this. Such a great unstuffy place to socialize and eat without having to feel constricted by reservation times, but still feels very nice. Whoever designed the interior crushed it too.

  13. This place is overhyped. I got sick last time from their wings and they were nothing special and overpriced.

I know you guys are like “really a fire cabbage salad?”

Yes. It is a REALLY good cabbage salad with a delicious, fresh peanut dressing.

  15. IonizedHydration

i used to live about a 10 minute walk to loro.. i miss that

  16. MediocreJerk

Not to be rude, but doesn’t nearly every restaurant in town have Jellyfish on tap these days?

  17. Best_Pomegranate_204

Had the absolute worst chicken sandwich there on Tuesday(friendly reminder Matt’s is closed Tuesdays) .5 mm thick chicken strings dried almost jerkey with mainly just breading. Couldn’t eat the second half. Used to need an extra bun the patty was so big you could make two, I wish I sent it back. Are their waiters not allowed to hold the door for customers?

I love Loro. I hate the Loro ordering system. If they really don’t want to wait tables then put a QR code on all the tables and let people order from their tables. It is SO annoying to have to get up, stand in line, order when you are trying to socialize. I swear they would make 20-30% more if they did the order yourself way!

  19. Shoontzie

I live so close by I could trip and fall and land there. I wish I could have that experience. Every time I’ve been to happy hour there I feel like… yeah, it was only $15… but I wish I had that $15 back and was hungry again it was so bad.

  20. i liked loro a lot initially. imo it jumped the shark 2-3 years ago, the death blow for me was when i brought my boomer parents there and we had a very mid experience for too much money

Sitting at the bar is the way to go — if you can get a seat. Otherwise, the whole ordering process is a bit of a hassle.

Totally worth it, though. Can’t beat the food and drinks.

  22. UsualChemist1263

so why pay for chickens to suffer for months on end and then die a gruesome death all for a 15 minute meal?
You know you don’t have to pay for people to harm and kill animals, right? So why would you?

  23. austinteddy3

Love Loro. Never done the Happy Hour. Thanks for the reminder. The burger is awesome there.

  24. Sorry but what bar in Austin doesn’t have jellyfish on tap these days? The question now is “Is it $9 or $10?”

  25. KeepEmCrossed

I don’t think we look for the same things in a restaurant. The vibes there are anxiety and impatience

  26. That’s $36 worth of food. Over $40 w tax and tip.

  27. erinmonday

I ordered food from there once and got salmon that smelled like hot butt.

Their sous vide chicken is maybe the worst thing I’ve ever been served in austin. The texture was disgusting. I mentioned it to someone that worked there and they said that was how it was supposed to be. I’ve never been back.
